My Apple id/password isn't being accepted by a FIRST generation Apple TV device I just bought. That's it. I tried changing my password via desktop computer and trying AGAIN to sign the 1st gen TV box... The box seems to work otherwise, but I can't do much with it like thjis. So, any ideas? Thanks.

The 2007–2010 first generation model A1218 has no practical use in 2023.
- It can’t connect or sign in to the iTunes Store anymore since 2018. I.e. it can't steam, load, nor authenticate iTunes Store movies or TV shows anymore.
- It doesn’t have any third party streaming apps. It had YouTube until 2015, when YouTube changed their streaming. Not sure when Flickr was discontinued.
- It can’t sync content through recent versions of iTunes anymore. The last supported version was iTunes 12.6.2.
- It never supported AirPlay.
- The only thing it can do is play non-DRM’ed content that has been loaded onto its disk.

Are you actually talking about the large, white Apple TV box that looks a lot like a Mac Mini?
The 1st Generation Apple TV is Obsolete. That means the it is no longer supported, so Apple is not going to let you register the device.......which was likely already registered to another user.
