Can’t turn off guided access even when I hold the home and power off button for 15 seconds and the iPad reboots

I have tried multiple times to turn off guided access by holding down the power and home button. The I pad reboots but then goes straight back into guided access? How to do turn this thing off?

iPad 2, iOS 9
