Clock stops on sleep resumes on wake-up

My clock is set to manual time because it doesn't update the time over the internet. That got "damaged" after the battery was empty. Thats described in another question and I reported it to apple. Now I noticed that the clock stops running when I put my MBP on sleep, it resumes when I bring it back. So: last night I put it to sleep at 22:16 and this morning I resumed a 09:00 am. At 5 past 9 I noticed that MBP believed it was 22:21. Setting the time manually works, until the next sleep. Anyone experienced this specific behaviour and fixed it?

MacBook Pro 16″, macOS 14.2

Thanks I already use the terminal solutions, the plist had already been deleted. That didn't solve my issue.

Yesterday evening I performed 2 PRAM resets (option + command + p + r + power) preparing my MBP for a total factory reset and it started working again.

Thanks and have a nice day.

you can sync with Apple's time server from the Terminal.app copy & paste

sudo sntp -sS time.apple.com

note—your psswd will not echo on screen, type it in any way use the enter\return key to proceed.

reboot and compare your results

In Sonoma the issue seems to be resolved from the Terminal.app copy & paste:

sudo rm /var/db/timed/com.apple.timed.plist

this removes the associated corrupt plist.

plist get rebuilt on the reboot of the machine.
