Can’t delete Favorite Songs Playlist from Apple Music Library

Under Music in the Settings app, there are two Library select option to “Add Playlist Songs” or “Add Favorite Songs”. I turned off both these features, but when I open my Apple Music Library, I still see the Favorite Songs playlist, I even made sure to de-favorite every song under there also, but it still wont delete from my Library

The only way around this that I found was to go to your Library, select Playlists, tap the three red lines in top right hand corner, click on "Favorites" instead of "All Playlists." Then, as cumbersome as it is, go into each playlist, tap the three red dots in the top right hand corner, tap "Favorite." Repeat this process for all playlists, which may take some time depending on the number of playlists you have. Make sure the playlist "Favorite Songs" is not favorited, and next time you use Apple CarPlay in your vehicle that annoying "Favorite Songs" playlist will be absent from your choices of playlists to play.

For those of you who are still looking for a solution I had to favorite all of my actual playlist and unfavorite my “favorites” playlist. Then I used the filter feature to show only the playlists marked as my favorite playlists and that is how I finally got it to disappear. as long as you keep the filter on, you won’t see it anymore. hope this helps.

Hi guys, the solution I've been using:

  • before anything, go thru & unfavorite EVERYTHING
  • fully close app to refresh & relaunch
  • go to Library, then Playlists
  • upper right corner, click three red lines
  • ✅ All Playlist
  • ✅ Recently Played
  • play a song from each playlist, eventually favorites ends up at the bottom
  • As long as you don't favorite anything, the list should remain there
  • Good Luck!

It has been quite a while since Apple has intruduced yet another feature that we are obligated to use.

The fact that Apple prides itself on giving users a polished experience makes it even more frustrating when they impose something unnecessary and non-removable, like this playlist.

What I did was in ‘playlists’, hold down on my actual playlists and click ‘Favourite Playlist’. Then go to the top right on the little lines, and click ‘favourites’ instead of ‘all playlists’ This should hide the apple music ‘favourite songs’ playlist.

I have found that sometimes apple literally automatically favourites the ‘favourite songs’ playlist which is very annoying with this strategy but i can just hold down and unfavourite it, it doesn’t happy very often, it’s pretty weird.

Other than to irritate their subscribers what is the point in arbitrarily adding favorite songs playlist. If I wanted one I would have created one. This playlist was added either Christmas day or early the day after. I can remove the songs from favorite songs playlist but I cant remove the playlist it self. Interesting thing is this favorite playlist do not appear on my laptop apple account. Apple need to fix this.
