Lost phone and Apple ID recovery is ridiculously difficult

My wife lost her phone recently. She could not remember her Apple ID password, and went through her new phone trying to recover her ID. Without any warning, her ID was put into “recovery mode” and now Apple says it will be two weeks before a decision is made. Whichever executive decided to place this issue and in the hands of an Automated computer should be flogged in public. Seriosuly. Fire that person.

I was able to get Apple support on the phone within 24 hours, but because the phone is in recovery mode, they can’t do a thing. Why in the heck when you have actual human beings at Apple support would the actual humans be locked out of the process. Whoever made this decision has rotten apple sauce for brains. I wish I could open hand slap that person right now.

I hope they get coal for Christmas.

It sounds like you want to let Apple know your opinion about something. Apple Support Communities is set up as an end-user to end-user technical issue support service (i.e., users like you helping other users). Feedback for Apple will likely get more attention if you send it using: Product Feedback - Apple
