Wanting to return this iphone to our daughter after i did a factory reset on it and used it for a short period. And i wanted to confirm that when she signs back in to her apple account she'll have her photos uploaded to her phone automatically.

That depends on whether it was on iCloud before you reset it.
If she had iCloud Photos turned on before it was reset and turns it on again then the photos will sync with it. See: Set up and use iCloud Photos - Apple Support
If iCloud Photos wasn't on but she has an iCloud Backup then the photos would be included in the backup and she can use the backup to setup the new phone.
