Create csv file from Contacts in MacBook Pro

How do I create a csv file from Contacts in MacBook Pro (2015)? I've tried dragging and dropping all contacts to Numbers spreadsheet, but it doesn't work. Using Monterey MacOS version 12.7.2. Numbers version 13.1. Any ideas?

MacBook Pro 15″, macOS 12.7

Judging from comments from other posts on this topic the drag apparently fails if too many contacts are selected for the drag and drop. You might try selecting a smaller number of them and seeing if that works.

If that works then you can drag and drop in stages.

If you are still having trouble you might consider a third-party solution. There have been positive comments here about Export for Contacts, available on the Mac App Store.
