Can I use my IPhone 14 Plus In The US

I live and work in both Amsterdam and California. My service provider in Calif is not set up for eSim and still uses a micro SIM card. Can I bring my European IPhone 14 that has a SIM card slot and use it with a U.S. carrier? Will it recognize the sim if I just put it in my unlocked euro phone? The US iPhone 14s only have eSim but mine has a sim slot.

iPhone 8, iOS 15

Your assumptions are correct. You can use an eSIM with a Physical SIM (two carriers) on your version of the iPhone 14 Plus. If your carrier in the US is able to provide a physical SIM card, then you are good to go in California.

Chinese phones do not support eSims as they are banned by the Chinese government.

They also have a few other functional differences and certain Apps may not work on them due to government restrictions, but these are very limited.

The more important issue, will be warranty. It will only be valid in China, and you will need to take the device back to China for any type of Warranty service and repair.

One last question. If I purchase an iPhone from an Apple Store in China, what if any differences will there be technically with the Chinese version. I’ve read that there is no satellite communication to notify in case of an accident, any others that anyone is aware of? Thanks in advance!

iPhones manufactured for China, Hong Kong and Macau are dual physical SIM phones. To my knowledge, eSim is not supported in China.

Update: On the Chinese and Japanese phone, you cannot mute the shutter click when taking photos. On Chinese version, you cannot make FaceTime calls. Chinese market models have dual SIM card slots, where as all the rest are single SIM card and they also don’t support eSim. So I guess it’s a no on buying a Chinese version. Thanks for all of your input.
