Logic Pro Quick Swipe Comping greyed out when Flex is turned on.

I have been comping in a take folder. One of the phrases was a little behind so I adjusted the timing with Flex Polyphonic (Auto) in the Edit screen. Now the take folder is only showing flex options. If I turn flex off the timing adjustment does not happen. I am sure I am missing something obvious here, but I can't figure out why I can't comp in the take folder when I have flexed in the edit window. Any help much appreciated.

MacBook Pro with OS 12.7.1. Logic Pro 10.7.9.
