How to show a a video file full screen on three monitors?

Hello,

I have a Mac mini M2 Pro connected to three 27" 4k Displays and created a 48:9 FCPX video file with a resolution of 11,520 x 2160, for a full display of the video across the three screens in an ultra wide format.

However, the Quicktime file does not extend to the full screen size if the windows are manually resized. Clicking on the green 'Full Screen Size' button in the top left of the window reduces the window to one screen, obviously with a large letterbox frame.

How do I get to show the full video file on all three displays? Ideally without manually resizing the window.

I think I have figured it out. My first mistake was not to auto hide the dock, once that option was turned on, I was able to further extend the window.

Since the Full Screen (Green) Button truncates back to one screen, the window has to be manually enlarged to maximum size. However, it is not possible to manually draw over the top menu line (Apple - Finder - etc ...). I measured the height for Top Menu line in pixels and chose a number dividable by five, in this case 25 pixel.

Changed the resolution from 11,520 x 2160 to 11,440 x 2,145 and now the video extends to all screens, with the top menu line visible. I can live with that ... for now.

The video file changes at times from videos to photos for each screen, so it was important to get the pixel dimensions correct in order to display a photo exactly on one screen and not bleeding over to the adjacent screen.

I hope to be able to create an Automator script to automatically open a video in the 'Full Screen' mode without having to manually extend the window across all three screens.

I am not sure if this is currently possible.

By default, "Displays have separate Spaces" (*) is checked, and in this case you can't have a window spanning multiple displays.

You could try turning this off, but then you could extend a window, but if you put it in full screen it would (I think) use only one screen. I have not turned off "Displays have separate Spaces" ever since it was introduced in Mac OS X Mavericks, so maybe it has changed.
