iPadOS 17.2 taking up too much storage and not lowering after days.

I updated my ipad and as usual the update of course took up nearly 10gb, and I know it is supposed to go down over time but mine hasn’t been doing that. Im having the same problem with my iphone. I can’t even back either of them up because I don’t have icloud space to do so.

It is worse than that though - the update for 17.2 requires a further 7.02GB as working storage. This means over 17GB needed above user requirements. Makes a 32GB iPad practically redundant. I’ve got a 64GB iPad now but I use a lot of Notes with pictures included - these take up too much space on the iPad as they do not back off old notes to iCloud to manage space, unlike Photos and files. Seems like a way of forcing me to upgrade to a 128GB model.
