How to prevent remote on Lock Screen on my Apple Watch?

I have Apple Watch 9, and many versions prior. When my watch has "locked" and I am playing something on Apple TV, the controls for the movie are displayed on Apple Watch. This is *incredibly* frustrating as slight gestures can cause the film to fast forward or the the volume to increase quickly. I need to prevent the screen from appearing. I have gone into Settings, General, start ups and toggled off the "open audio apps" when devices are near the watch. I have also set "return to watch face" for "always." I remain at a loss as nothing has helped. I have also searched the internet and found no solution. Please help.

In the Settings app on the Apple TV;

Settings > Remotes and Devices > Remote App and Devices.

If the Watch appears in Remote App and Devices, click it and tell the TV to forget it.
