Sorry, but I do have a few more questions, if you don't mind:

• Was this always an issue, or did it just started to happen after updating your iPhone to iOS 17.1.2?
• Have you considered updating to the (currently) latest version: 17.2?

In the mean time, I suggest trying the following, in order. Stop at any step that resolves this issue.

1. Restart your iPhone
2. Force restart iPhone
3. Reset your phone's network settings. Settings > General > Transfer or Reset iPhone > Reset > Reset Network Settings

Not a lot of information to go on with your post, so I need to ask you a few questions:

• What is the model of your iPhone? What version of iOS is it running?
• Are you using the Apple Mail app or another email app when sending emails?
• Is this issue with all of your email accounts or one specific one?
• Do you use a VPN on your iPhone?
• What have you tried, so far yourself, to resolve this so we don't offer potential solutions that may not have already worked for you?
