Activated 3 months free trial on apple arcade and I was charged immediately

I bought a new iPad and tried to check apple arcade. So I clicked the button saying "Activate 3 months for free" and next day I noticed I was charged a monthly fee on my debit card. I tried to get a refund but all it says is it's not possible. Well I would love to know why. As far as I remember I have never tried apple arcade before and when I click on a button saying get 3 months for free I expect to get 3 months without paying subscription. I just bought a 1000+$ device and you are trying to scam me over few bucks?

Typically Apple will make an availability check on your payment method to ensure that the details are correct and that it would be able to take the subscription amount at renewal time. Some debit cards will temporarily display such charges as if a completed transaction, but that should fall off your account within a few ours or by the next day.
