The time on my Macbook Pro is incorrect even I point to the Apple NTP server

The date and time in my Macbook Pro is incorrect if I use NTP. I have already go to "Date & Time" setting and setup the time automatically by pointing Apple NTP server (time.apple.com), it will then update to a wrong date and time. It always shows 7 months lag behind of the corrected Date and Time.

My workaround is just to set the Date & Time manually. However, it is not the good solution as I always need to change the time after some days. I have also tried to point to public NTP server like google's NTP but cannot help.

Anyone has this issue before?

MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 14.1

Yes a known bug. Set it manually, no harm there. There is a toggle included to turn off Automatic, do what works.

Some have had success resolving the issue from the Terminal.app copy & paste:

sudo rm /var/db/timed/com.apple.timed.plist

this will remove the corrupt plist.

reboot and compare your results

(note—your psswd will not echo on screen, type it in any way use the enter\return key to proceed.)
