DOD Sites with CAC PIN

Hello, I’m trying to access my military sites. I have done this before using my CAC and PIN. Now, while trying to access the same sites it asks for a PIN, I have tried my CAC PIN several times and it says it is wrong. My CAC pin is not wrong as I can access sites using it on government computers. My computer has just started doing this and appears to be asking for a separate PIN to first Authenticate the certificate before I can enter my actual CAC PIN to access government sites such as my pay and defense travel. I have never set such a pin on my computer. But this is a problem when I need my CAC reader inserted to sign in to DOD websites. I have seen this question multiple places but it is always the same answer about the Apple ID PIN. Which is not the issue here. I have tried Following AmberLarain's post but with no success.

I'd suggest discussing this directly with your US DoD IT support organization, and would not suggest downloading any third-party authentication software or hardware; anything that is not specifically identified by and approved by US DoD IT.

One common suggestion is to remove any and all CAC-related add-on software, and to configure and use the built-in software, though I do not know if the built-in Apple-provided authentication software is considered approved by US DoD IT.

There is support for loading a profile to provide this, if your IT organization is using that:
