I've gotten error -536870181 and have no idea how to fix it. I've tried everything known to man and my files still won't export. Any tips?

I've been editing in Final Cut Pro for over a year and it hasn't given me issues. It is now not letting me export my project no matter what I change or do.

Windows, Windows 6

Start by deleting all render files.

Also, whenever the application misbehaves, delete its preferences.

To delete preferences, hold down command and option while starting FCP X and click Delete Preferences. The application will start in a default state, and open an "Untitled" library. Reopen the library you were working on, set the preferences the way you like them, and try again.

If the problem persists, tell us more about your project settings, and the type of media involved.

For more details about your setup, please run Etrecheck and post its full report here. Use the "additional text" button and paste the report into the text box.

Are you exporting to ProRes? I see that error occasionally when exporting through final cut to ProRes, but it was more common in older versions of FCP. Oddly, H.264 would still sometimes export successfully.

I've also seen that error when the destination drive doesn't have enough room or is encrypted. (Lots of clients send me encrypted SSDs). Make sure your destination drive isn't ExFAT formatted.

Some editors I've worked with swear it's a bug that's triggered by doing something else related to video while exporting, like watching youtube or something that does video decoding, but I'm not so sure about that.

Q1: Isn't it a long project?

I think it's the same error posted many times in the past.

⚫︎Final Cut Pro - "Error -536870181" occurs and cannot be exported(Japanese)

You may be loading media that contains error frames. Try selecting and exporting 1/2 of the entire timeline → exporting 1/4 of the entire timeline, and repeating this process. I think you can pinpoint the error location.
