adjusting dell monitor connected to MacBook Pro

I have a dell s3222hn and it is connected to a MacBook Pro with HDMI. It does work but the resolution on the Dell is very large and course. I would like to get better resolution. I have tried to download Dell's DDPM but it does not come up and allow me to adjust the monitor. I failed to find a driver for Mac for the monitor. Is there anything I can do or do I have to purchase a different monitor?

Dell monitor I just bought the new 2022 MacBook Air, and it does not seem to be compatible with the Dell Ultrasharp (U2721DE) monitor that I bought just a couple years ago. Dell's website does not list any drivers for Mac OS (only Windows) for this model monitor. Does this mean that my high end monitor is now just a very expensive paper weight? Are there any workarounds? (I've been using this monitor fine with my old MacBook Air, 2015 model).
