Deleting recents in folders app

There is too much question about cleaning recents in folders app. Open folders, navigate to browse, hit the 3 dot which is located right up, chose edit, close drive which you see its folders at recents and press done. Then you can re-open it.

Recents folder my recents folder never gets any smaller. So if I download something new and want to go to the recents folder to find it, I have to dig through thousands of files. If I clear this folder, are the files still stored where I saved them? Or does deleting it int the recent folder delete it altogether from the hd?

Delete Recents I wish to delete recents so that another person cannot see my choice of files. But, I do not want to delete the files in my other places such as Documents. When a file is deleted from recents it is deleted from the original file! How can I select some, not all, of files in recents and delete their appearance there without deleting the home file???

EDIT: Closing drive in browse tab deletes recents for short time after opening it. If you giving your iPhone to someone and dont want him/her to see your recent, then you should close drive in browse tab.
