I was told that the iPhone 12 PRO is the best of the various models produced to date for those who are visually impaired or blind. I would like to give it to my wife for Christmas, who is unfortunately very close to blindness. Who can answer me?

Kind of depends on what features you are looking for.
Accessibility features for visually impaired individuals are very similar across all recent models of iPhone. I would not say the iPhone 12 Pro is better than any other iPhone to date like the current iPhone 15 Pro or Pro Max, as the features on them are very similar or identical in most cases. Not sure why anyone would single out the iPhone 12 Pro for this.

Most of these are available on any iPhone running iOS 17, and would not be limited to just the iPhone 12 Pro.
In fact newer models may have new or better features than the iPhone 12 Pro. Though in general they should be very similar.
