How do I keep "now playing" from appearing on a lock screen of an Apple Watch?

Uninstall “Now playing App” from Apple Watch.

Same. I tried every solution posted on this thread is it still pops my Spotify up automatically. This really irritates me.

That doesn't work. Now playing still plays even though that is turned off.

Same here and I deleted the Now Playing app.

I find it to be useless as well!

It is greyed out on my watch turned off in my settings and deleted the app from my watch and it still plays on my watch

Forgive my ignorance. What is the app? I'll gladly delete it. It's destroying my battery.

I've done all the things suggested and it's still playing. It's decimating my battery! There's got to be a way to fix this.

Did a product manager or researcher actually talk to Apple Watch users before they launched this persistently annoying feature? I don't know why it exists at all, let alone is the default option.

I went into my Apple Watch apps on my watch and located the now playing app (I googled what the app icon looked like as I wasn’t familiar with it) and held the app icon until it had an x and then deleted the app! Problem solved. I also did the same with the news app (although I had to do that through the apps on my iPhone to be able to delete). I didn’t like how news kept popping up on my watch! Hope this helps!

This reply was the most helpful. No matter if I disabled “Auto-Launch”, went through the clock tab in My Watch app and set “Return to Clock” = Always, “Now Playing” still would pop up on my Apple Watch. I have no need for it on my watch so deleting the Now Playing app was the best option.
