Accept 3 months free feedback loop

I downloaded the Apple TV app and clicked on Accept 3 Months Free. Pop up says 3 month free trial starting today, 12.99 per month starting Mar 18, 2024. No commitment etc etc. At the bottom it says confirm with side button. Side button says Double Click to Subscribe. I double click and it takes me back to Accept 3 Months Free. Bought the phone 3 weeks ago, and there is no previous Apple TV product I have bought or accepted trial. Would love to know next steps. Che

Double clicking the side button should invoke Face ID to authenticate your start of the subscription.

Has Face ID been set up on this iPhone? Did you give it time to scan your face, until the Face ID symbol changes to a success checkmark (“✓ Done”)?

Hello, yes to Face ID (I use it on a couple of authenticator apps) and it just goes back to Accept 3 Months Free in a second when I double click. I sat with it facing my face for 20 seconds and there was no facial recognition that came up.
