Has anyone heard of YouTube locking up the Apple TV device. What I'm experiencing is if I turn off the Apple TV while on YouTube, then when I go to turn it back on it hard locks the device. Then I have to do a hard power reset to be able to use my Apple TV. apple supports response is contact Google and Google will not respond?

Open and watch a video on YouTube, at the end of the video turn off the Apple TV.
Then wait a minute and turn on the Apple TV what normally happens would be the Apple TV opening up YouTube to your last video. But right now it would just lock up.
I am also running the latest Apple TV version.
I've gotten frustrated and just uninstalled YouTube for the time being I'll wait a week or two and then reinstall. With the uninstall the Apple TV is giving me no grief whatsoever?
Does Google do Limited Update roll outs on Apple TV.
I've been hearing that if you run YouTube on Firefox there is a 5 second delay but this is only affecting Limited YouTube Watchers "limited roll out" or "Connected to accounts" is it possible that they're doing this to Apple TV clients and it's causing a glitch?

Yeah, that is what I did 🤷♂️. I am signed in to the app with my Google account, if that makes a difference. (It shouldn’t, but who knows?)

None whatsoever. Delete and reinstall to your heart’s content. Waiting won’t make a difference, unless a new app version happens to be published in the meantime.

This is the first time that I have heard of this. I imagine such a differentiation is quite difficult to pull off through the Apple App Store. So may best guess is “no”.
It seems to work fine for me, without locking up. 🤷♂️
