My ipod touch is a few years old and I just updates the youtube app, but now when I play a video, this screen keeps popping up and only plays the audio. Is there a way to fix it? Did the latest youtube app update only made it worse?

my iPod touch 7th gen is doing that too! I don't know how to fix it. i think they made an update to iPhone YouTube, and it effected the iPod. my best solution is to use YouTube website. Apple probably didn't check over this update to see if it effected the iPod because they stopped supporting the iPod in 2020. The time has finally come. Hope this helps!
thanks for suggestion. I didn’t even think of using the browser and have just been listening to the audio only when using my iPod. Browser works.
I tried to transfer the audio to my HomePod mini, the screen was back.
Having this problem too. Is there any way to roll the iPod touch to a previous version of IOS (I'm on 15.8) that will be compatible with the YouTube app?
