Logic Pro for iPad - Documents & Data retention

Hi all!

I wonder if anyone can shed some light on how Logic Pro on the iPad handles data?

Use case:

I installed Logic Pro on my iPad (the original 11” Pro, 64GB) and immediately deleted the 3 sample packs you are forced to install so I have no sample packs at all. In iPad storage it states app size ~700MB, docs & data 0.

I wanted to try out the new Mastering Assistant on some quiet & muffled DJ mixes, to try and give them some ‘sparkle’! I started a project, loaded in the MP3 DJ Mix (2 hours) applied Mastering Assistant (which was great btw), exported the new version, then deleted the MP3 from the track, deleted the track, then deleted the project. I repeated this 3 more times - another 2 hour mix, a 1 1/2 hour mix and a 4 hour mix. Again deleting everything out afterwards.

Now when I look at iPad Storage, app size is still ~700MB however Docs & Data is a 9.38GB!!!

As you can imagine, 10GB is significant on a 64GB iPad, and the only way I can resolve it is to uninstall/reinstall the app. I’m assuming it must be ‘caching’ all the data but I can’t find any way of clearing it out. Surely for ‘power users’ of this app this would be unworkable as you would eventually run out of space!

No doubt it’s probably just a rookie error on my part, however, any advice would be greatly appreciated.

iPad Pro, iPadOS 17
