Buying a new iPhone overseas

The next week I will be in America, if I buy the new iPhone 15 pro max in the apple store in USA it's will work in Australia (where I am living) and Italy ( my hometown)? Because I read about some "locked" iPhone and maybe with American servers or something like that and they don't work in Italy/Australia.

But other people told me then I need only the eSim. Please help me🫶

A phone purchased directly from an Apple Store will be unlocked. An iPhone 15 purchased in the U.S. will have esim access only. You will need to confirm that any carrier that you use can support an esim. Also, the warranty will only be available in the U.S. if you would need any warranty service, you will need to return to the US for coverage.
