I've uninstalled OS X El Capitan from Macbook Pro and I want to install an other system such as MacOS Big Sur

Unable to update late 2015 iMac to macOS Big Sur I have just been given an old imac 21.5 inch (late 2015) from family member. Still works so want to use it whilst I can. But to run a few program and I need to update the OS. I’ve looked into and it will only go up Big Sur 11 (which I’m happy with. But I can seem to do it as every-time I try and access Apple website the website does not work. Which I’m think because the version of the Mac apple does not have support for it so can’t access. Can anyone help me be able to get the OS I am after and a way to do it. Either on current Mac or a windows laptop. [Re-Titled by Moderator] Original Title: Cant update an older iMac need help.

Hello.

Please provide more information on this MacBook Pro. Depending on how old it is, it may not be able to run Mac OS Big Sur. I am assuming it can’t as you are using El Capitan.
