I do not find clear instructions on removing malware. Why?

I received a pop up notice that a file identified by a number will damage my computer. I was directed to remove the file to trash and I emptied trash, the pop up is still on my screen. I downloaded CleanMyMac x. when I clicked on it it demands my email address for their newsletter. I am suspicious,...and I am stuck.

MacBook Air 13″, macOS 14.1

First, start your Mac in "Safe Mode": How to use safe mode on your Mac - Apple Support. Starting in Safe Mode takes longer than usual so let it finish.

While in that mode, drag all the files in the folder shown in your third screenshot to the Trash except those with the following in their names:

Adobe

Canon

Google

Microsoft

Zoom

The files shown in your first and second screenshots are ok.

Then, restart your Mac normally and confirm the alert messages cease to appear.
