I’ve been trying for a few days and can’t get Dolby vision working, going through my Yamaha rx-v4a receiver. I have a Hisense 55a6H and can currently only use Dolby vision when connecting it directly to the tv and airplaying the audio.

Verify that Apple TV outputs in YCbCr color space with 4:2:0 (or 4:2:2) chroma subsampling [not 4:4:4].
Verify that the Yamaha’s corresponding HDMI port is set for 4K Mode 1, not mode 2. See the manual for details.
Verify that the HDMI cables are rated for at least 18 Gbps (“Premium High Speed”).
As a next step, I would suggest to consult with Yamaha, as it seems to work fine without that unit in between.
Thank you for all your help, I have tried these setting with no luck. The high speed cables work and are new. I tested this by connecting the Apple TV directly to the tv and Dolby vision works that way. I also tested the hdmi cable connected from the Apple TV to my receiver with the same results. On the receiver side, it’s updated and all the hdmi’s are set to mode 1. On the Apple TV, settings are set to YCbCr and 4:2:0. Interestingly, Dolby Vision in 1080p works perfectly.
