Why is my apple pencil jittery on my ipad and causing these lines?

I’m trying to write with my Apple pencil 2 on the ipad pro 2020 on Goodnotes. Has been working fine, but then recently, the pencil has started jittering on the screen and now it’s causing all these lines to show up.

I do have a paperlike screen protector, but it wasn’t an issue when I started using it 3 years ago. The screen is also clean, and there is nothing trapped under the screen protector. Doesn’t matter where I write on the screen, it still happens.

It won’t do this all the time, just sometimes. Screenshot below, and a link of it happening in real time:
