M1 MacBook Pro restarting when the lid is closed

My M1 MacBook Pro is restarting randomly. It does not show any kernel panic after restart. After restart, it just works normally like it would when manually restarted. It specifically restarts when I close the lid and leave it for some time. Although the time it takes to restart after closing the lid varies, if I leave it closed for a long period of time (like overnight), I can see that it has restarted.

I have done the following things:

  1. Boot in safe mode
  2. Run diagnostics (no issues were reported)
  3. Do first aid on all the disks using Startup Disk Utility
  4. Reinstall MacOS (Currently using MacOS Ventura)

and the issue still persists.

The current stable release of Ventura including bug fixes, security updates is macOS Ventura 13.6.3 12/11/ 2023

You would hope that a shut down is a shutdown?

closing the lid in itself is Sleep..

Log out, sleep, wake, restart or shut down your Mac

Shut down or restart your Mac - Apple Support

(?)Have you ever used scheduled log out/ log on option— you can clear this from Terminal.app, copy & paste:

sudo pmset repeat cancel

Look At your Settings, a sleep issue but I would make some changes and compare your results—

>System Settings>Battery>Options
