Can I go back to the previous landscape keyboard format on my iPhone?

People ask clarifying questions in a technical support forum so they have the information they need to formulate a suggestion that is appropriate for the device. The forum has a tendency to not always put the most up-to-date information in the footer and what your picture looks more like an iPad screen. So, I was double-checking.

Try going to Settings>Display & Brightness>Display Zoom and set it for "Default".

Are you asking about Messenger, the Facebook messaging app? Or are you asking about Messages, the included Apple messaging app? If you're asking about Messenger, that's something you'd need to take up with Facebook.

If you're asking about Messages, it might help if you were more specific about the changes you're seeing. I can read the keyboard in landscape mode without my glasses.

Well, as you can see from the picture I posted, I don't have it. I think there is something amiss with your phone. However, if you prefer to believe that it's something new with iOS 17.2 (that apparently no one else has), there's nothing more I can do.
