MacBook Pro won't turn on, unless plugged in but still has battery.

Whenever I turn off my Mac, and I try turning it back on the next day or so, the screen displays as it if it had no battery and needs to be charged, so I need to plug it in to turn it on. However once powered up, it has 47% battery and if I unplug it, it runs without a problem.

This has happened to me a few times now and I'm concerned since I usually leave it to charge fully and try not to charge it again unless it's running low on battery. Could this be a bug on a software update?

I have a mid 2019 MacBook Pro running on Sonoma 14.0

MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 14.0

Sounds like an issue—

On the Intel Mac you can try resetting the System Management Controller:
