I changed my Apple ID password and my MacBook still wont accept it.

So I locked myself out of my MacBook, and I've waited 2 weeks for the recovery process to send me a link to change my password. I'm at work, and I have just changed it. Going into my MacBook, I enter it, and it didn't accept my password. I double checked and wrote the new password down; it's definitely correct! I'm wondering, since I don't have my MacBook on my work wi-fi yet, will it work when I go home and have it connect there. That wifi was connected before I got locked it. Will my new password work then?

Unless the Mac has connected to the WiFi itself before trying to login, then no the WiFi will not allow it to see the AppleID. You are better off getting an ethernet adapter or ethernet cable if you have ethernet built-in and connect directly to the modem. A work network may also have firewalls preventing access to Apple's remote servers.

Macs with USB-C can get a powered pass through USB-C adapter with ethernet connector.

Macs with USB 3.0 or earlier but also having thunderbolt 1.1 or 2 can get an thunderbolt ethernet adapter from Apple if no ethernet plug is available.
