Notes Smart Folder with the rule "not in a folder"

In Notes I want to create a Smart Folder containing notes that are not yet in a Folder.

In Photos I can create a Smart Album containing photos that are not in an Album. I can't figure out how to do the same in Notes.

Is this possible? Is there a hack to get around this?

Photos Smart Album interface includes option to include photos that are not yet in an Album

Notes does not seem to include this option.

I’ve been trying to learn the Files app but when I attempt to use its browse function I don’t see anything. I thought I’d try to view Notes folders given their hierarchical design but I see nothing. Photos disappeared from notes I had some photos stored in my notes and all of them do not appear anymore. The notes are secured by password. When I try to open them it says the name of the jpeg or png and the size which is 0 kb. When I choose "Show small pictures" the photos appear in a (very) small version. When I choose "Show large pictures" they disappear. When I paste new pictures it works as expected. The same problem with iPhone 13 (16.3.1) and iPad A1980 (16.3.1) and https://www.icloud.com/. Apple Notes Photo Size Default Thought this was the feature before the latest update. But when adding a Photo to Notes, the default is a “large” Photo, so you have to resize down to “small” if so desired. Within that same Note, if you then add another Photo it adds in the second Photo as a “large” Photo. Q: Is there a way that you can set the default to be a “small” Photo within Notes? Or at least ‘remember’ what your size choice was for each particular Note that you add Photos too? ~Make Sense…
