New Macbook Pro M3 slow wifi since setup

I just bought the new M3 and I am having slow and on/off wifi since I started setup. My bf has a macbook air and we have been running speedtests and compared everything on the network setup but we can’t find the issue. We sit right next to each other. He has an awesome speed connection and mine just goes on and off..☹️ have bee thinking on getting a wifi extensor but still makes no sense cause his wifi works just fine. Not sure what to do. Here is a screenshot attached

<<. If I unplug the HDMI cable from the M3 machine, the connection speed immediately comes back up. >>

HDMI cables you want for HDMI-only Displays (higher resolutions than 720p TV sets) are marked as Certified with an anti-counterfeiting tag and are labeled:

"Premium High Speed HDMI cable" or that + "with Ethernet" --OR--

"Ultra High Speed HDMI cable" or that + "48G"

Cables with No Certification tags are good for your standard 720p TV set, and not much more.

HDMI was invented for HD TV sets. it works great at its original resolution of 720i or 720p. At higher resolutions, it quickly develops issues that are complex to solve, and the cables and adapters required to solve are NOT intuitive.

I have the same issue. I have to use my Galaxy Note 20 Ultra as a hotspot to go online period. Everything else in the house works except this 3k piece of junk that I purchased today. it timed out when I was trying to migrate, crashed, and wouldn't connect to a LAN or wifi. On a lark, after 3 hours I used the phone with security off and that worked. This is a disgrace. If I can't get it to connect to my ATT fiber network with 2gib speed, it's going back to apple.

It only works on my guest network, or through a specific USB dongle plugged into a USB-c dongle. Bluetooth is terrible as well. Every other device is working flawlessly except for my hardwired PS5 that I have to reboot once in a while. Another strange thing is when I use speed test. On my main AT&T network, it can't find the network, and half of the websites and downloads don't work, but I'm getting the full speed. When I switch to the guest network at 2.4 GHz, it can find AT&T and everything connects, but the speed is about 1/4. WTH? Make it make sense. On my Iphone I have to turn off Private Wi-Fi and disconnect and re-connect wifi a few times for it to work.

I’m having issues too. M3 Max MBP with the upgraded GPU/CPU core count, against my 2022 Asus Zephyrus G14 with AMD hardware. I tried downloading the new “Lies of P” game from the App Store, but I couldn’t download at more than 10MB/s. On the Asus, I was able to download Elden Ring in less than 5 minutes. Both downloads were connected to my Rivian’s Mobile Hotspot. On the Asus, downloading from Steam, I was able to maintain a download speed of about 160MB/s.

I cannot imagine why there is such a large difference in WiFi speeds.

The laptops were not attempting to download simultaneously. Each laptop would be completely shut off while the other was attempting to download.

We even did a speed test on each computer. Sure enough, it wasn’t just the game host servers that were causing the slowdown discrepancy. My Asus avg'd about 170MB/s down while the MacBook scored at abt 13MB/s.

@AppleSupport please address this issue. I was so impressed with my M3 Max right up until this point. I was so excited to try a real AAA Game Natively on Mac. It will be terribly ironic if the issues that we’re encountering trying to play “Lies of P” are because of Apple hardware.

you have added your Me too without providing any additional information whatsoever, after others have been urd=ged to start a NEW discussion specific to their own issues.

WiFi uses radio waves shared with your neighbors and microwave ovens and baby monitor and bluetooth and USB-3 devices and lots of other stuff.

MacBook Pro Has NOT been found to be widely deficient in any way.

What is needed is a careful analysis of each specific situation, and that is why you are being urged to provide more information. but please start a new discussion.

when you see a symptom occurring, but cannot pinpoint exactly what might be causing it...

... the solution I recommend to to make certain EVERYTHING under your control is well controlled.

In the case of HDMI devices, the cables available are generally junk, and the best cables available (and what you should be using for high-end displays) are Certified "Ultra" "48G" HDMI cables.

here is a good one from a US vendor that will not "break the bank"

Monoprice 8K Certified Ultra High Speed HDMI Cable - HDMI 2.1, 8K@60Hz, 48Gbps, CL2 In-Wall - 42674 - $3.99

Grant. Appreciate you seem like a network guy. Some additional information before we assume. The M3 is a replacement for my M1 which has no issues, nor does the iPad, iPad mini and 5 iPhones in the house if all in the same area etc. so the upgrade to more advance WiFi with Apple products would cover those listed above , I think. The conclusion I shared was also the one from the senior Apple support engineer I work with when troubleshooting.

WiFi is running on ASUS zen WiFi.

That was fool's gold. This POS is the only device in my house that can't connect to my 5ghz. I purchased 2 ethernet adaptors too, and neither one of them works properly. It won't connect to my AT&T provider and half of the websites simply don't connect. This is frustrating, I'm not using external monitors or any other peripheral equipment. They need to fix this issue asap.

Has anyone found a fix for this? I have a brand new MacBook Pro M3 Pro and have had slow internet issues since the day I purchased it. I use an Eero 6E Pro with 3 nodes (one for each level of my home), a Studio Display (connected with the included Thunderbolt cable) and have an iPad 12.9 that sits on a stand to the right side on my desk. I also have a Dell Precision 3420 provided by my employer. I have swapped in/out the Dell and MacBook and the Dell will never have a slow speed test. WiFi 6E mode is turned on both units.

I have moved the Thunderbolt cable away from the MacBook hinge as well without any change in results. My iPad, iPhone 15 Pro Max will always get 600mbps when I run SpeedTest.

So looking for a fix before bringing in for repair.
