Admin cannot delete dismissed user on Macbook

Greetings. I'm the admin and cannot delete an old user on the company MacBook. Apple evening CS can't help. See image. They are greyed out and also have an orange check. Same thing with the sign in page, they have an orange check. What does this mean? Please advise and thanks. I see there is an orange check which maybe indicates they are logged in so maybe that's why? And what if I can't get ahold of this person for their password?

Are you using JAMF, InTune, or similar Mobile Device Management software? That software's own management console website may need to delete the user even though it is listed as a standard user. If you have setup a separate account on the T2 chip login, it may be that user that has to login on that chip before the admin user has enough privileges to delete the user.

In the worst case scenario you may need to manage the user through the Terminal and approach it with super user privileges, which is higher than admin.
