How to get rid of Game Center on my iPad?
Since I updated to iOS 17.2 on my iPad, I am constantly being asked to login to Game Center. I have never used Game Center. How do I make this stop? Thank you.

If you're repeatedly prompted to log in to Game Center on your iPad after updating to iOS 17.2, and you don't use Game Center, you can try a few steps to address this issue:
Method 1: Sign Out of Game Center
Method 2: Disable Game Center Notifications
Method 3: Disable iCloud for Game Center
Hope it helps.

Sure, try following -
Method 4: Update to the Latest iOS Version
Ensure that your iPad is running the latest version of iOS. Apple releases updates to address bugs and improve performance.
For the following method, do it at your own risk. Please be careful while doing this.
Method 5: Reset All Settings
Note: This won't delete your data, but it will reset settings like Wi-Fi passwords and wallpaper.
I found an additional culprit. App store notifications.
Go to Settings, Notifications, scroll down to App Store and select. Deselect all banners, etc then disable Apple App Stores notifications completely. Restart your device and double check your settings changes. I have learned to double check all my app settings after every iOS update and after most security updates as well. Cheers!
I have not logged into Game Center for several years. iOS versions before iOS 17.1.2 did not prompt me to log into Game Center. BUT, iOS 17.1.2 will not stop prompting me to log into Game Center. And yes. I have checked all my settings
In the main settings menu. I went to Game Center and checked to make sure it was logged out.
Then I went to notifications and notified are turned off.
Finally I went to the iCloud settings and made sure Game Center was not using iCloud.
Going into settings and resetting all settings is a bad idea unless there are other problems with iOS 17.1.2. and resetting is the only option. If you do a reset, make sure to do a backup before, then restore from the backup.
Or you LOSE all kinds of information. I.e., network passwords, and other information.
Something is broke and Apple needs to fix it.
I suppose you could just log into Game Center. So what if you don’t use it? It won’t keep pestering you to login then.
Thank you for the suggestions.
Option 1: I have never been signed in to Game Center, so I am already signed out.
Option 2: Allow notifications was already off for Game Center.
Option 3: Game Center was already off for iCloud.
Any other suggestions?
Thanks!
those ways of getting rid of the game center none of them work none of them make it stop popping up every single time you open the game we just don’t want to use it. We should be able to disable it or remove it from our phones altogether.
Capitulating and logging in to Game Center is not the answer. We, as users, should be able to control which notifications and pop-ups we receive. We have paid for our devices and shouldn’t be dictated to by Apple or anyone else about what notifications we get. Before iOS 17 we used to be able to tap ‘cancel’ 3 times and the request to sign in to Game Center would no longer pop up. Now there is NOTHING that can be done to get rid of it. Well done Apple developers: you have peed off lots of people with your nonsense.
Dear Apple. Some of us do not want to use Game Centre. We have games, but we do not play well with others. I am happy being a lonely cow on my ipad/ mac etc. Stop trying to socialise me
You idiots: you don't know your users. My ipad is for my playing alone time. There are no words to define how much you are the most insulting bunch of people to users who own your VERY expensive kit.
I’ve done all of
the things listed to stop the Game Center banner from popping up everyone I enter a game. All of the items above don’t work because Apple is violating their own requirements for how app notifications work. It’s really annoying.
It's effective for every pop up, except for the initial one when you open up the game. One pop-up is a far cry from them happening continuously while playing. If you did not achieve the desired effect, then you incorrectly followed the procedure I would try again, but as I said, this will not affect the initial one time pop up when you open a game.
When you give instructions on how to do something it might be nice if those options were even on my Apple device. Maybe you should have the version number so we might be able to look at the one that pertains to our device. At least what year these instructions were posted.
My phone tablet is a brand new iPad Pro running the latest iOS update. My phone is an iPhone 8+ also running latest iOS update. You may have to do a little thinking to navigate your phone to hit all the settings. Sorry not a techie just average gal. If unsuccessful you can contact support or visit your local Apple Store for assistance. 3/22/2024
Thanks Originalfarrowgirl, but I've done all the settings. The ones that work for all other apps. This one continues to plague me with a pop up entering every game. Its very annoying. I've researched on line here and other places and there are no more settings to tweek/turn off. I've never logged into GameCenter and never turned on notifications. My opinion is apple is violating their own app behavior rules, probably to sell me something.
Just tried it. Did not stop the Game Center notification from popping up.
Apple has really p’od a lot of people. There are a lot of people who don’t want their progress or information tracked. For a company that prides itself on protecting a person’s privacy - they have fallen on their a— big time.
