60FPS with iPhone 14 pro max vs 60FPS with my Sony A7Slll

Hello to all .

I have an important question. Why are the videos recorded with the iPhone 14 Pro Max softer and smoother than the videos recorded from my Sony Alpha 7S3 camera, especially when moving both for example from left to right or vice versa (something like quick panning).

The RAM of the camera has a high speed (CF Express) and it is not a problem of the RAM.

Both videos are reviewed on a common system (iMac 3.8 GHz 8-Core Intel Core i7 2020) But in Sony's 60 frame videos, a similar glitch occurs (both in H.264 and H.265).

iMac 27″, macOS 13.5

1) In order to make a useful comparison, the shutter speed used when recording needs to be identical on both cameras. The higher the shutter speed, the less "smooth" will be the appearance of the pan.

2) The Sony likely records video at broadcast frame rate of 59.94 fps when set to 60 fps. If you place a clip from the Sony camera on a timeline set to 60fps, FCP will adjust the 59.94 frame rate to work on the 60fps timeline which can cause some aberrations in the frame rate cadence. To test, create a timeline with settings based on the Sony clip and see how the pan looks on that timeline.
