What to give someone an old iPad ( was my mom’s). Already put back to factory settings. Charged it and turned it on

The issue is it’s asking for a passcode …. How can it when one wasn’t set up

Old iPad locked with unknown passcode I have factory reset my old iPad to pass onto a family member and I have already removed it from my iCloud account but it is now locked with an unknown pin. I have tried my old pin and the new owner has tried her pin for her devices too. None of them work. What is the pin? Or how do I fix this without a computer? Neither of us have a computer. Resetting Passcode on 4th Generation iPad I don’t know if I’m on the correct place for this but I’ll give it a go. I bought a 4th generation iPad from a Charity shop but when I got it home it still had the old passcode on it. Is there a way to sort this or should I cut my losses and through it out? How do I restore an iPad without the password ? My wife started the setup and forgot the passcode. Now, power up br3ings the Hello screen and scrolling up requests the forgotten passcode. Done. This was a gift almost a year ago and she put it back in the box. It is an iPad Air i spent a bunch of money on. I want to register it to me then transfer it to her because she doesn't want to look at it and doesn't remember her Apple password either. [Re-Titled by Moderator]
