paid 200 dollars for a keyboard that has a finger print but no backlight for working at night , would be nice to see amber light coming from my keys or to match my display settings . come on apple !

Yeah, the lack of a backlight is mildly annoying, particularly given the price.
If OP or others here need a keyboard light, there are low-powered USB lighting options, among other choices.

backlight requires too much power.
that why we have a cable , if you'd like to use the LED you can always recharge your keyboard ?or a magnetic charger that sits on the table so you can walk away with the keyboard =)
