You're right, the ability to create stickers directly from photos within WhatsApp on iPhone wasn't available until recently. However, with the latest updates, things have changed! Here's how you can now make stickers directly on WhatsApp on your iPhone 13:

1. Check your WhatsApp version:

Make sure you're using the latest version of WhatsApp. New features are often rolled out gradually, so check the App Store for updates.

2. Open a chat and share a picture:

Go to any chat in WhatsApp and tap the paperclip icon. Choose "Photo & Video Library" and select the picture you want to turn into a sticker.

3. Touch and hold the subject:

Once the picture opens, press and hold the subject you want to make a sticker out of. You'll see a blue outline indicating the selection.

4. Drag and drop:

Drag the selected subject into the chat message bubble. You'll see a preview of the sticker with a "Send Sticker" button.

5. Edit and send:

Optionally, you can tap the pencil icon to edit the sticker before sending it. This allows you to add text, emojis, or adjust the outline. Tap "Send Sticker" when you're ready.

Troubleshooting:

If you're still not able to create stickers directly from pictures, here are some things to try:

  • Force-close and reopen WhatsApp: Sometimes a simple restart can resolve minor glitches.
  • Restart your iPhone: This can clear temporary memory and potentially fix any software issues.
  • Reinstall WhatsApp: Uninstall and reinstall WhatsApp from the App Store.

If none of these steps work, it's possible that you have a bug in your WhatsApp version. You can report the issue to WhatsApp through the app's Help & Feedback section.

Additional tips:

  • Remember that stickers must be square with a transparent background. If WhatsApp doesn't automatically handle the transparency, you can use other apps to edit the picture before sending it.
  • For more creative options, consider dedicated sticker-making apps that offer additional features like text effects, filters, and templates.

I hope this helps!
