Dell bluetooth mouse not connecting

I have used my dell bluetooth mouse for weeks no issue but now when I had to reconnect it to my macbook air it will see it on the bluetooth and allow me to click connect but then the loading wheel just continues non stop and it won't connect/work.. any ideas? ( I have replaced the battery in the mouse and turned the laptop off and on)

i struggled with this on my dell bt travel mouse but finally found a solution. it could be paired manually by third party utility called blueutil. you need brew installer on your mac os to install it. https://github.com/toy/blueutil.

1) install brew

/bin/bash -c "$(curl -fsSL https://raw.githubusercontent.com/Homebrew/install/HEAD/install.sh)"

2) install blueutil

brew install blueutil

after installation you just need to find out your mouse mac address which i found it by using my old macbook and by typing in terminal - "system_profiler SPbluetoothDataType" which will show you list of connected devices with mac addresses.

3) Then use it with this command but change the address:

blueutil --pair 00-1F-20-37-53-CC 0000

This will work.
