Unable to run software update for apple watch 10, without switching to IOS 26 I've just updated my iPhone 13 Mini to IOS 18.7 but due to IOS 26 being available for download, the iphone is now not allowing me to run software updates for my Apple Watch 10. An error is being returned stating "Update iPhone First. To update your Apple Watch, you first need to update your iPhone. You can update your iPhone software in Settings". I don't want to update my iPhone to IOS 26 yet due to the known issue with draining the battery and my phone is now over 3 years old, so the battery life is not the best anymore. However, the Apple Watch software updates won't even search for a newer software version for the watch without updating my phone's IOS. Is there a way to keep running Apple Watch software updatesw without updating my iPhone to IOS 26?

Can’t update Apple Watch I have an iPhone 8 ( 16.7.1) and series 8 watch ( 9.6.3). The phone has the latest update. However when I go to update the watch it says I need to update my iPhone first. I have powered off and restarted both devices several times. Both on the same wifi. Bluetooth on. Both fully charged on chargers. I have unpaired and paired the watch. Still will not update. Any solutions out there? perhaps my phone is to old???

Unable to update my Apple Watch Series 9 to watchOS 11 Each 20 minutes it will automatically stops the update download. Watch series is 9 and my iPhone is 13 [Re-Titled by Moderator]

If your trying to update watch to the 10.x.x software you would need to the iPhone to be running IOS 17.xx

The iPhone 8 + cannot be upgraded past iOS 16.x.x.
