iPhone issues after iOS 17.2.1 update

Anyone else experiencing issues with call volume and other sounds since updating to iOS 17.2.1? I can barely hear my callers since the update and some of the other sounds ( like when connecting the charger to the phone or the ring on outgoing calls) seem muffled or very low.

iPhone 11 Pro, iOS 17

The problem I am having since the update is a volume issue. I used to be able to adjust ringer volume separately from other notifications and/or sounds. Now, the text and other notifications are so loud and no matter what I try, the volume won’t change. I even tried turning the notifications /general volume off …nothing changed. Help!!

Since updating to 17.2.1 yesterday, the Phone app freezes. I can click a person’s name to make a call and it just blinks the name without changing the screen. Other times it will bring up the “calling…” screen but never goes through on my end. The receiving phone will get a call from me several minutes later. I went to a Verizon store today and after several troubleshooting efforts, decided to upgrade to a new 15 Pro Max. It made a test call from the store but since I’ve been home, it’s doing the same thing the 13 Pro Max did. Also the back is getting hot, not just during charging). They need to roll 17.2.1 back. And I upgraded before I really wanted to due to the corrupted iOS update!

Edit to add: Restarting as well as turning Airplane mode offf and on, as well as toggling cellular off and on hasn’t changed anything. I also reset network settings to no avail

There are several potential reasons for distorted voice calls on an iPhone. Here are some common factors that can contribute to this issue:

  1. A weak or unstable cellular network signal can result in voice call distortion. If the signal strength is low, the audio quality may suffer, leading to distortion, dropouts, or static during calls.
  2. High network traffic or congestion can affect voice call quality. When there are too many users trying to access the network simultaneously, it can result in degraded call quality or distortion.
  3. It's recommended to keep your iPhone's software up to date and regularly check for app updates.
  4. If you are using a Bluetooth headset or speakerphone during calls, interference or compatibility issues can lead to distorted audio. Try disconnecting any connected Bluetooth devices and check if the voice quality improves.
  5. Voice call distortion can also be attributed to problems on the network provider's end. Temporary network outages, infrastructure issues, or maintenance work can affect call quality in specific areas or during certain times.

If you're experiencing persistent voice call distortion on your iPhone, it's recommended to troubleshoot the problem by following these steps:

  1. Check your network signal strength and switch to a different location if possible to see if the issue persists.
  2. Restart your iPhone to refresh the software and temporary settings.
  3. Disable any Bluetooth devices connected to your iPhone during calls and check if the distortion improves.
  4. Verify that your iPhone's software is up to date and install any available updates.
  5. Contact your network provider to inquire about any known issues in your area.
  6. If the problem persists, consider contacting or visiting an Apple authorized service center to diagnose and address any hardware-related problems.

When I connect my Bluetooth device to my IPhone XR and bring the device away from the phone, the connection gets choppy and when it gets far enough it will just not play anything and after a little bit it just disconnects from the phone completely… my dad and I tried multiple Bluetooth devices and the phone would do the same thing for everyone of them, this is when I just started to listen to music on Bluetooth… and I haven’t been having these problems before… we’ve tried everything, I just can’t figure it out
