Landscape mode Apple TV on iPhone

I just switched 4 family members to iPhone and it’s ridiculous you can’t lock the screen to landscape mode. I think it’s common to lay in bed on your side and want landscape which makes the phone vertical and automatically turns to portrait view. People have suggested how to trick the phone, but why can’t we just have a lock icon within Apple TV just like every other movie app? Please!!
