I have the following issue: While in iTunes I can find and play ALL the music that has been imported, when I go to the actually files (which are located in an external HD) NOT ALL of them showing up, with the result when I use my virtual DJ software, it reads only the ones showing in finder (which means much less, as described before).
Is there any workaround I can fix this?

Do you have a subscription to either Apple Music or iTunes Match? Without either service iTunes should still be able to stream any purchases when you don't have a local download. For a track that appears to be missing on your external drive what happens if you right-click on the entry in iTunes and use Show in Finder? Does that reveal the location? It is possible that your media folder preference hasn't been set to your external drive at some point when adding media, which could lead to files being in different places. Consolidating the library will bring in copes of any scattered tracks that can be located. Downloading cloud tracks should fix those.
