It would be WONDERFUL to be able to capture video on the iPhone 15 Pro in HEVC (H.265) with Apple LOG. 98% of the quality of ProRes, in 5% of the space. Please, please, pretty please, give us this in an iOS update! That way, we could film happily without having to resort to the still imperfect BlackMagic Camera App and without filling a 1TB SSD in short order. Thanks for listening, Apple!

Thanks a bunch. Greatly appreciate the answer. When I asked the question, I didn't realize how dumb it (I) was actually. Since then I've learned the HEVC is a really bad choice. Just to share: I'm now shooting in Apple ProRes Log 4K 60 and converting in Premiere Pro to h.265 using the nifty freelab plugin, because it gives me a pleasing look that I can tweak as needed with minimal effort.
With Blackmagic App you can have Log in HEVC or pretty much any codec offered.
