No sound after coming out of sleep on Sonoma 14.2.1 with MacBookPro16,4
Every time....this macbook pro comes out of sleep mode I lose sound. Actually I have two problems....1) No sound until I reboot after sleep mode and then, after rebooting all of the externally mounted drives are thrown randomly on the desktop instead of where I last had them, all other icons are where they last were - it's just the mounted disks.
I hate to say it but, I knew I should not have upgraded to Sonoma. I thought I learned my lesson after upgrading to Ventura and that complete disaster. Sonoma offered no real benefit for me and now I have to deal with this problem, although it's nowhere near as bad as the Ventura upgrade. There once was a time....not that many years ago....when Steve Jobs was CEO....that you could bet your life on a MacOS upgrade succeeding, there was just absolute zero doubt. You could also go A FULL YEAR without having to reboot a macbook pro. I wish those days were back. Ventura fixes took FOREVER to resolve APPLE wireless keyboards and Magic Mouse connectin on restart. Did nobody really test that??? What happened to the QA in MacOS? Anyway...
The audio is the display audio on 1 of 4 Thunderbolt displays, yes I still use them because I think they are awesome. I can try disconnecting from my TB3 docks, put to sleep and try to wake up and see what happens, if that makes any difference. Fiddling with the sound in settings does not help. In addition, some apps get real slow, with beach balls everywhere after coming out of sleep mode.
