All of a sudden, some songs are skipping ahead to the next song with about 1 minute left.

I'm sorry, but I don't understand what you are saying. They all seem to stop when there's about a minute left. I can go back to the song, and it will then stop with about 40 seconds left. Sometimes it will play through.
For me a similar behaviour started today after the update to macos 14.2.1: some time interval (a variable but small number of seconds) is missing near the end of each song, but the final 1–2 seconds are played (followed by the next track).
Extremely irritating. When starting playback 30sec before the track end, it plays normally.
I am having this problem with the MUSIC APP on my iphone, but I am listening to a station. Just out of the blue, it will just advance to the next song. At first I thought it was my CAR PLAY head unit in my car, but now, listening from my iPhone from the iPhone speakers, it just advances to the next song, with about 40 to 60 seconds left in the current song.
This is not online. These are files and they play fine in QuickTime.
